School Education Dept. fails to teach Pahari Speaking Language in Govt schools: Raqeeq Ahmed Khan

Hails BGSBU VC for including Pahari Speaking among reserved categories

Mendhar, June 05, 2021: Raqeeq Ahmed Khan, Vice President J&K Youth Wing and Media Coordinator, Apni Party has urged Lt Governor for his intervention in implementation of Pahari Speaking Language in educational institutes of Jammu and Kashmir.

In a statement to the press, Raqeeq said that the Education Dept has failed to provide books to the schools in Pahari Language to the schools and the officials at district level also not keen to start teaching Pahari speaking language in the educational institutions upto 8th class.

In clear violation of rules, he said, the School Education Dept. has deprived the Pahari speaking people from their rights who have struggled for years to their language recognized by the Govt.

“We fail to understand the reasons why the Directorate has not insured supply of books to the Govt educational institutions to teach Pahari Speaking language even as these books have been printed,” said Raqeeq Ahmed Khan.

He said that “The mismanagement, poor coordination and lack of intention to teach language in schools have led to confusion. We are told that the Directorate has printed books on Pahari Speaking following directions from Govt. However, they have not provided these books to schools. The officials have engaged in a blame game on each other as the District Level Officials claim they do not get orders from the Directorate to place supply orders of books.”

When the officials do not obey and themselves become smooth working of the Govt, it is imperative for the Lt Governor to intervene into the matter and hold officials responsible for their negligence.

“The directions should come from higher authority to start teaching of Pahari Speaking Language in schools from the current academic session in schools falling in Districts having a population of Pahari Speaking People,” he said.

Meanwhile, he appreciated the Baba Ghulamshah Badshah University – Rajouri administration for including Pahari Speaking as one of the reserved categories in the admission process for 2021-22 Sessions.

“We hail the prompt response of the Vice Chancellor of BGSBU Rajouri for including the Speaking people as one of the reserved categories,” he said, adding it was possible with the intervention of Apni Party President Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari at the highest level.

He said that the Apni Party believes in justice for all sections of society irrespective of their religion, region, caste or creed. “Our purpose is to serve the people without giving hollow slogans and misleading them with falsehood,” he added.
