EC Punchok Tashi takes stock of health infrastructure development works, status of COVID-19 vaccination for 18+ age group at CHC Padum

Kargil, May 26, 2021: Executive Councillor for Tourism and Zanskar Affairs Er Punchok Tashi took stock of the pace of progress on the ongoing health infrastructure development works and COVID-19 vaccination for 18 to 44 years age group at Community Health Centre (CHC) Padum here today.

Block Medical Officer (BMO) Zanskar Dr Stanzin Namgyal apprised  the EC about the works pertaining to different health infrastructure development works including the up gradation of Medical Aid Centre (MAC) to Primary Health Center (PHC) in the Sub Division and availability of the COVID-19 vaccines for the above 18 persons at CHC Padum. He also informed about the asymptomatic and other COVID-19 positive patients admitted at the Covid Care Centre (CCC) at CHC Padum.

On the occasion, EC Punchok Tashi said that an amount of Rs 1.70 crores have been sanctioned under the District Capex Budget for development of health related infrastructure in Zanskar Sub Division including the construction of residential quarters for doctors, paramedics and other staff besides the purchase of healthcare equipments and medicines.

The EC also inspected the ongoing works of the oxygen plant sanctioned under Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM CARES Fund).

Engineers of Public Works Department Zanskar besides other concerned officers accompanied the EC during the visit.
