World Environment Day, 2021: EVS Department GDC Kargil organizes webinar
KARGIL JUNE 06, 2021: The Department of Environmental Science, Government Degree College (GDC), Kargil organized a webinar on the eve of World Environment Day on the theme Ecosystem Restoration here on Saturday.
Students and faculty members of the college participated in the webinar.
On the occasion, Dr Pankaj Chandan, Director Nature Wildlife and Climate Change Programme of National Development Foundation and Dr Manzoor Javed, State Nodal Officer, School Herbal Garden Scheme J&K delivered expert talks in the context of protection and conservation of Himalayan ecology.
The speakers urged on the participants to play active role in restoring the ecosystem of the region.
The last session of the webinar also had presentations from student participants.
Dr Javed Naqi, Officiating Principal, GDC Kargil expressed his sincere gratitude to the organizers, experts and students for successful conduct of the programme.
At the end the Convener of the webinar, Professor Sajjad Hussain while thanking the guests, participants, and Principal of the college assured continuous efforts from the Department of Environmental Science in building greater awareness on the importance of environment conservation in future.
