Jammu, April 25, 2024: Vomedh Rangmanch, a prominent theatre group, continued its impactful “Terrace Theatre” series with a poignant performance of “Srishti Maa” at Surya Vihar Bohri. This play, dedicated to mother nature, delivered a powerful message about environmental preservation and the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
“Srishti Maa,” penned by Rakesh Roshan Bhat and directed by Rohit Bhat, has garnered significant attention for its impactful storytelling. This performance marked its inclusion as the 4th episode in the 2nd season of the “Terrace Theatre” series. The play has previously been staged at various events, including the Save Tawi Abhiyan and the Summer Festival of Cultural Academy, further amplifying its reach and influence.
The event was graced by the presence of esteemed guests, including senior Kashmiri Pandit leader MK Yogi as Chief Guest. Dr. Samita Bhat, Bindiya Raina Tickoo, Shashi Kumari, Bharati Kaul, Suman Bhat and Senior Journalist and Artist King C Bharati also attended the event, alongside local theatre enthusiasts and families from the neighbourhood.
This season of “Terrace Theatre” aims to foster a love for theatre within the community, offering young and aspiring artists a platform to showcase their talents and engage with meaningful theatrical experiences.
In a unique experiment, “Srishti Maa” was presented by only two actors – well known artist Ishu Bharati Pandit and budding talent Sanchi Sandeep Bhat. This deviation from the usual seven-person cast allowed Vomedh to nurture young talent by pairing them with experienced performers.
The audience lauded the young artists’ skills and dedication, recognizing the challenge of adapting a seven-person play for a two-person performance. Vomedh presented both artists with mementos, acknowledging their remarkable efforts in bringing “Srishti Maa” to life.
