Post flash flood situation: SDM Dorjay takes stock of restoration of irrigation khuls, roads, water supply schemes in Zanskar Sub Division

KARGIL, AUGUST 01, 2021: In order to review the progress of restoration of irrigation khuls and roads damaged during the recent flash floods triggered by heavy rainfall and cloudburst, Area Development Officer and SDM Zanskar Sonam Dorjay visited various affected locations in the sub division here on Saturday.

At Zangla, the SDM directed the Rural Development Department to restore irrigation khuls affected by flash floods at the earliest possible. He also directed the PWD Department to remove the damaged culvert at Zangla stream to ensure continuous flow of water.

At Ranthaksha, the SDM directed the concerned officers to personally monitor the restoration work of the irrigation khul so that the unregulated water flow does not affect the standing crops in the area.

Meanwhile, irrigation khul of Muney and water supply schemes at Padum and adjoining areas were temporarily restored to supply water to the residents.
