Pollution Control Committee, Reasi conducts Public Hearing
Reasi, June 29, 2021: A Public hearing for the environmental clearance of Minor mineral mining Block no. 3 (Anji Khad Upstream Sula Park bridge), Block no.5 (Anji Khad Downstream Kayala bridge) Block no.7 (Anji Khad Downstream Sula Park bridge) and Block no.30 (Chenab River Upstream Baradari bridge, Nambal) at Reasi was organized today by J & K Pollution Control Committee. Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Reasi Mr. Abdul Star, JKAS presided over the entire proceedings of the Public hearing. The other members of the panel comprised of representative of Regional Director, J & K Pollution Control Committee, Sh. Angrez Singh, Divisional Officer, PCC Samba South; District Mineral Officer, Reasi Sh. Rakesh Kumar and Divisional Officer, Pollution Control Committee, Reasi Sh. Hansraj Singh Galoach. The Environmental Consultant of M/s Gaurang Enviromental Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Amit Kumar representing the project proponent briefed the audience about the details of the proposed mining blocks including the mining method and anticipated impact from the mining in the area and the measures proposed under Environment Management Plan and Corporate Environmental Responsibility. Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Reasi in his address assured the public that genuine concerns of the locals vis-à-vis availability of minor minerals for construction of houses under PMAY, safety of adjoining lands and all other issues raised during public hearing shall be appropriately addressed. BDC Chairperson Smt. Parveen Begum, DDC Member Reasi Sh. Babu Jagjeevan Lal, Sarpanches, Ex- Sarpanches and Panches also addressed the Public.
