NIA conducts raids at 14 locations in J&K in connection with two separate cases
SRINAGAR, JULY 31, 2021 : National Investigating Agency on Saturday conducted raids at 14 locations in J&K in connection with the two separate cases .
Officials said that NIA raids are going in J&K in connection with two separate cases. “One is IED recovered in jammu on 27.06.2021 Rc -04/2021 and the other one is Lashker-e-Mustafa case of Hidayat Ullah Malik who was arrested earlier this year.
They said that raids are going on at 14 locations in J&K including Shopian, Anantnag, Banihal in Kashmir, besides, Sunjwan and Jammu.
LeM, acting at the behest of Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) outfit, was arrested in February by its self-styled chief Hidayatullah Malik and his associate Nazir Ahmed, both residents of Shopian, from Jammu. District.
They were trying to set up a base for Pakistani terrorists from across the border and getting arms and ammunition.
“NIA along with J&K Police and CRPF conducted searches at nine places in Shopian, Anantnag and Jammu districts in connection with the case related to LeM. After the searches, one accused person – Irfan Ahmed Dar of Batingu (Anantnag) was arrested,” said a spokesperson of the agency.
The NIA said that preliminary investigation has revealed that he was involved in a conspiracy to carry out terrorist activities in connivance with other arrested accused. (PTK)
