Jammu, April 19, 2024: Senior Kashmiri Pandit leader, M.K. Yogi, today expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the J&K administration for their responsiveness in addressing the concerns of the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community regarding ration card distribution.
“For over three decades, our community has endured numerous hardships in exile,” stated Yogi. “The recent shift from annual to monthly ration coupons added to our anxieties and inconveniences.” He acknowledged the collective efforts of various social and political groups within the community who raised this issue, leading to its successful resolution.
Yogi specifically thanked Chief Secretary Sh. Atul Duloo, Secretary of Revenue and Relief and Rehabilitation, and the Relief Commissioner Migrants J&K for their understanding and swift action in reinstating the previous system of issuing yearly ration coupon books. “This decision brings much-needed relief and ease to our community,” he added.
He also extended his appreciation to all community leaders who tirelessly advocated for this change, highlighting their crucial role in securing this positive outcome.
Yogi concluded with a call for unity, urging all social and political leaders within the Kashmiri Pandit community to come together, transcending party lines, to collectively address the ongoing challenges faced by the displaced population. He emphasized the importance of a unified voice in advocating for the community’s needs and mitigating their suffering.
