Manjit Singh urges Govt to waive off electricity, water bills in J&K

‘Help people who lost jobs, business due to Covid19’ 

Jammu, April 5, 2021: Asking Govt to waive off electricity and water bills in J&K, Apni Party Provincial President Manjit Singh today expressed concern over unscheduled power cuts and poor drinking water supply at Rajpur Kuhlar.

In a statement to the press, a public meeting was organized at the village Rajpur Kuhlar in Samba District in which people highlighted their issues.

During the meeting, they complaint Manjit Singh about poor road connectivity and lack of cleanliness in the village, especially in the locality belonging to Schedule Caste community

On hearing their issues, the Former Minister Manjit Singh assured the people that he would raise issues before the administration for their early redressal.

He said that the people are getting electricity and water bills which they are not able to pay.

“The people have faced worse period of covid19 last year and even till date, the financial condition of the people has not improved,” said Manjit Singh.

He said that the PHE and PDD department should not charge the electricity and water bills to the people considering the financial condition of the people.

“People in large numbers have lost their jobs and some suffered financial losses in their small scale businesses,” he said and urged again to the authorities not to charge electricity and water charges to the people.

He said that the administration should help the people at the time of covid19 re-surge in Jammu and Kashmir. “Administration should win the confidence of the people,” he demanded.

He expressed serious concern over alleged disparity with the Schedule Caste community’s localities. “These areas lack basic amenities,” he said.
