FOB Rajouri, PIB Jammu organizes webinar on ‘Quit India Movement

The last nail in the coffin of British Imperialism in India’ as a part of celebrations of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mohatsav'

Jammu, August 04, 2021: Field Outreach Bureau (FOB), Rajouri & Press Information Bureau, Jammu, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India today organized a webinar on ‘Quit India Movement- the last nail in the coffin of British Imperialism in India’ as a part of the celebrations of 75 years of India’s independence under  ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mohatsav’.

In her introductory address, Miss Neha Jalali, Deputy Director, Regional Outreach Bureau, J&K, Ladakh region and Deputy Director, Press Information Bureau, Jammu said that the actual aim of conducting this kind of a webinar on the theme ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mohatsav’ is to instil the spirit of sacrifice and patriotism among the masses & to showcase the contribution of freedom fighters especially the unsung heroes during the course of India’s freedom struggle.

In his address, Shri Sukhdev Singh Samyal, ADC, Nowshera asserted the words of Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi that Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav means elixir of energy of independence which also means elixir of inspirations of the warriors of freedom struggle, elixir of new ideas and pledges and nectar of Aatmanirbharta. Praising Sardar Patel for his immense contribution before and after the independence, he said that the uphill task of integrating the princely states after independence was done by him for which he will be remembered for centuries to come.

Professor Rajat Bhardawaj, in his address said that the biggest achievement of Quit India Movement was the integration of masses from all walks of life & a united effort from students, women etc. who participated in it after all the leaders were jailed by the British colonial masters.

Shri Shahid Mohammad Lone, Field Publicity Officer, Anantnag in his address said the impact of Quit India Movement was up to that extent that the parallel governments were set up at Satara, Talcher, Tamluk and Baliya. He further called this movement as ‘people’s movement’ as the masses in large numbers participated in it after all the leaders were arrested.

The webinar was a coordinated effort of Tehsil Administration Nowshera, Government Degree College, Nowshera and ICDS Nowshera, supported by DIO, Rajouri.

Besides officers & students,   Field Publicity Officer, Udhampur, Shri Khursheed Yousuf, Field Exhibition Officer, Jammu & Ladakh, Syed Adil Shameem, Media and Communications Officer, PIB Jammu, Shiekh Mudasir Amin & in charge FOB, Kathua, Shri Vijay Matoo were also present.

The Webinar was moderated by Shri Gurnaam Singh, in charge Field Outreach Bureau, Rajouri.
