EC Punchok Tashi discusses measures related to start of mobile telecom services by Airtel in Zanskar
KARGIL, JUNE 29, 2021: In order to discuss the measures related to the start of mobile telecom services by Bharti Airtel Limited in various villages of Zanskar, Executive Councilor for Tourism and Zanskar Affair Er Punchok Tashi held a meeting with the concerned officers and engineers of Airtel led by Business Head Pankaj Mehra here today.
During the course of the meeting, the officers and engineers concerned informed EC Punchok Tashi that survey of various villages including Chibra, Phey, Ating, Rantaksha, Sani, Padum, Pibiting, Salapi, Zangla, Karsha and Tsazan has already been conducted to check the feasibility.
The EC Zanskar Affairs urged the officers and engineers of Bharti Airtel Limited to include few more villages like Skyagam, Pidmo and Muney to facilitate these villages with mobile connectivity. He also stressed the need to expedite the sanctioning process and start early execution of works for improvement of mobile connectivity in Zanskar Sub Division.
Meanwhile, EC Punchok Tashi expressed gratitude to the Airtel team for initiating measures to start mobile telecom services in various villages of Zanskar, and assured that all possible logistic and ROW support will be extended by the LAHDC Kargil in this regard.
