DC Santosh Sukhadeve dedicates 10 oxygen concentrators donated by GHE, MOFA and Vibha Foundation to Health Department Kargil

KARGIL, June 15, 2021: Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve handed over 10 oxygen concentrators to the Health Department Kargil at DC Office Kargil premises here today.

The oxygen concentrators with the capacity of 10 Liter Per Minute (LPM) each have been donated by the Global Himalayan Expedition (GHE) in partnership with MOFA and Vibha Foundation.

Medical Superintendent District Hospital Kargil Dr Liyaqat Ali Khan, Block Medical Officer Kargil Dr Fatima Nissa, Nodal Officer Dedicated COVID-19 Hospital Kargil Dr Abbas Ali, Accounts Officer to DC Kargil Ajaz Hussain besides other concerned officers were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner Kargil while expressing gratitude to Global Himalayan Expedition (GHE), MOFA and Vibha Foundation for this humanitarian gesture said that these oxygen concentrators will be issued to the Covid Care Centres (CCCs) and Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in the peripheries to treat mildly symptomatic COVID-19 cases. He further said 15 more oxygen concentrators of 5 LPM each donated by GHE, MOFA and Vibha Foundation are being provided to the District Administration in near future.

DC Santosh Sukhadeve said that it is heartening to see a number of NGOs and other organizations coming forward in supplementing the efforts of the District Administration in COVID-19 mitigation measures in the district.

While 2 oxygen plants have been sanctioned by the National Hydroelectric  Power  Corporation (NHPC), National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL) has also sanctioned 1 oxygen plant for Community Health Center (CHC) Chiktan under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, the Administration is in continuous touch with other organizations like the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) and various banks for providing of COVID-19 logistics and infrastructure, the Deputy Commissioner said.
