ADC Kargil convenes review meeting of Revenue Department

KARGIL, JUNE 15, 2021: On the direction of the Deputy Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kargil Tsering Mutup convened a review meeting to take stock of the progress reports of revenue related matters and functioning of Revenue Department in the district here today.

Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Kargil Abdul Gaffar Zargar, SDM Shakar Chiktan Muhammad Sharif, SDM Zanskar Sonam Dorjay, Tehsildars of Drass, Sankoo, Kargil, Shargole, Shakar Chiktan, Tai Suru, Zanskar and all Naib Tehsildars besides other concerned officers attended the meeting.

During the course of the meeting, the ADC reviewed the status of writing of Jamabandi (record of rights), Girdawari, Attestation of Mutation, disposal of revenue/judicial cases in the respective revenue lower courts, relief cases under SDRF, remittance of revenue realization, status of land compensation cases besides the various issues related to the Revenue officers and officials.

As desired by the Deputy Commissioner Kargil, the ADC directed the Tehsildar Kargil, Drass and Shakar Chiktan to conduct a joint survey of land under the occupation of Army in their respective Tehsils within a week’s time with the representative of the Defence Estate Officer (DEO).

The Additional Deputy Commissioner set new target for writing of   Jamabandi for the current year, and directed the officers concerned to complete the same by or before 31st August, 2021.

Meanwhile, the meeting was informed that new forms for Jamabandi have been made available for first time after Ladakh became a Union Territory.

Addressing the meeting, the ADC said that effective and efficient functioning of the Revenue Department assumes greater significance for timely grievance redressal of public issues in the district, adding that all out commitment is required to achieve the set administrative targets in the sector.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner while exhorting upon the officers concerned to ensure updation of land acquisitions and Jamabandies also instructed them to complete of all revenue records in a time bound manner.

The ADC further directed officers to listen to public grievances to ensure satisfactory delivery of public services particularly the revenue related matters.

He also directed the concerned officers to ensure submission of the monthly progress report to the DC Office by the 26th of every month.
