COVID-19: J&K reports 25 deaths, 1,117 positive cases
Srinagar records 194 cases; Case tally at 304,866, death toll mounts to 4,143 active; cases increase to 18,581, recovery rate at 92.54 percent
Jammu, June 10, 2021: The Jammu and Kashmir Union territory on Thursday witnessed 25 deaths due to Covid-19 while as 1,117 fresh positive cases were also reported, taking the number of total active cases in the UT to 18,581
With 25 more deaths the death toll in the UT has reached to 4,143 and 1,117 fresh positive cases reported on Thursday has pushed the tally of positive cases to 304,866
Of the exact number of 304,866 cases, 188,612 are from Kashmir division and 116,254 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 1,117 new cases, 785 belong to Kashmir division while as 319 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 188,612 including 174,850 recoveries and 2,130 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 116,254 including 107,292 recoveries and 2,013 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 18,581 including 11,632 from Kashmir division and 6,949 from Jammu division.
With 2,363 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 282,142 which is 92.54 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 194 from Srinagar, 109 from Baramulla, 121 from Budgam, 77 from Pulwama, 81 from Kupwara, 74 from Anantnag, 44 from Bandipora, 30 from Ganderbal, 56 from Kulgam and 08 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 319 from Jammu division include 50 from Jammu, 47 from Udhampur, 44 from Rajouri, 56 from Doda, 16 from Kathua, 11 from Samba, 24 from Kishtwar, 22 from Poonch, 51 from Ramban and 11 from Reasi,” officials disclosed
Meanwhile, authorities on Thursday said that no fresh case of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported and toll stands at 18.
Out of 25 deaths reported today, 04 died in GMC Jammu, 01 in Govt. Hosp Gandhi Nagar Jmu, 01 in DH Poonch, 01 in DH Reasi, 01 in MH Satwari, 01 in SSH Jammu, 04 in SMVDNH Katra, 01 in Home/ Brought Dead, 03 in SMHS Sgr, 02 in SKIMS Soura, 02 in DH Pulwama, 01 in JLNM Hosp Sgr, 01 in SKIMS JVC Bemina & 02 in GMC Anantnag.
As per officials figures, 67,759 positive cases including 806 deaths and 64,373 recoveries are from Srinagar, 22,498 including 272 deaths and 20,297 recoveries are from Baramulla, 21,583 including 20,090 recoveries and 199 deaths are from Budgam, 14,231 including 12,698 recoveries and 180 deaths are from Pulwama, 13,056 including 150 deaths and 11,895 recoveries are from Kupwara, 15,358 including 14,278 recoveries and 189 deaths are from Anantnag, 8,873 cases including 8,382 and 97 deaths are from Bandipora, 9,203 including 8,532 recoveries and 71 deaths are from Ganderbal, 10,577 including 9,378 recoveries and 109 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,474 including 4,927 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 51,878 including 48,072 recoveries and 1,112 deaths are from Jammu district, 10,947 including 10,475 recoveries and 131 deaths are from Udhampur, 10,267 including 9,414 recoveries and 198 deaths are from Rajouri, 6,256 including 5,137 recoveries and 93 deaths are from Doda, 9,034 including 8,729 recoveries and 147 deaths are from Kathua, 6,943 including 6,439 recoveries and 116 deaths are from Samba, 4,179 including 3,941 recoveries and 38 deaths are from Kishtwar, 5,741 including 4,776 recoveries and 81 deaths are from Poonch, 5,514 including 5,029 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Ramban and 5,471 including 5,266 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 2,203,263 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 75,594 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 18,852 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 1,963,756 persons have completed surveillance period and 141,189 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 9,035,646 samples are available. Out of 9,035,646 the number of samples tested negative stands at 8,730,780 while as 304,866 have tested positive, among them 18,581 persons are active, 282,142 persons have recovered and 4,143 persons have died—(KNO)
