CEC Feroz Khan virtually attends e-inauguration of YounTab Scheme in Ladakh, Expresses gratitude to GoI for approval of Engineering College in Kargil, GDC at Sankoo

Thanks UT Administration Ladakh for financial assistance to meritorious students, announcement of Rs 25 lakhs from the LG’s Fund to Gram Panchayats for community education of primary classes

KARGIL, JUNE 04, 2021: Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan virtually attended the e-inauguration of the YounTab Scheme dedicated to the students of Ladakh by the Lieutenant Governor (LG) Ladakh, Radha Krishna Mathur through video conferencing today.

Under YounTab scheme, around 12300 students of classes 6th to 12th of Government schools in Ladakh will get edu tablets with pre-loaded content of NCERT and J&K BOSE along with 40 different learning apps.

Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, Chief Education Officer (CEO) Kargil Nazir Ahmad Wani, other concerned officers besides teachers and students were present during the distribution ceremony.

The CEC extended congratulations to the UT Administration Ladakh for implementation of this important scheme and expressed optimism that it will facilitate students of weak mobile telecommunication facility areas in Ladakh including 9324 students of Kargil District in getting smooth and timely learning during the ongoing pandemic.

CEC Khan also extended congratulations to the Commissioner Secretaries of the Education and IT Department for targeted procurement and timely distribution of these tablets and appreciated the role played by the Director School Education Ladakh in this regard. He said that the pre-loaded tablets shall enable easy access to education in all regions irrespective of the presence of telecommunication network.

The CEC also urged the UT Administration to consider the proposal forwarded by the Education Department Kargil for providing dedicated tablets to the teachers so that their work could also be monitored and they could also help with the consumption of digital content in terms of education.

The CEC on the occasion distributed free edu tablets among 9 students of different schools in weak mobile telecommunication facility areas including Government Higher Secondary School Barsoo and Padum and Government High School Tangole, Parkachik Bartoo Kaksar, Karkit Badgam, Tacha and Mushkoo.

CEC Feroz Ahmad Khan also extended gratefulness to the Government of India for according approval for establishment of Engineering College at Kargil. He also thanked the UT Administration Ladakh for approval for establishment of Degree College at Sankoo.

Meanwhile, CEC Feroz Ahmad Khan extended his gratitude to the UT Administration Ladakh for financial assistance to meritorious students of Class X and XI for availing coaching for exams like NEET, JEE, NDA and UG CLAT under the Rewa Scheme wherein there will be reimbursement of the coaching fee of up to Rs 1 lakh for these exams and up to Rs 1.54 lakhs for those clearing preliminary exams of civil services, IES and IFS.

The CEC also expressed thankfulness to the LG Ladakh for announcement of Rs 25 lakhs from the LG’s Fund to the Gram Panchayats of Ladakh for facilitating better provisions in villages for community education of primary classes.
