CEC Feroz Khan kick starts mobile vaccination camp, weeklong mop-up sessions for COVID-19 vaccination of left out beneficiaries
KARGIL, June 18, 2021: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan in presence of the Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve inaugurated a Mobile COVID-19 Vaccination Camp and weeklong COVID-19 mop-up sessions at Old Taxi Stand Kargil here today.
On the occasion Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr Muhammad Abass, Block Medical Officer Kargil Dr Fatima Nissa, doctors and paramedical staffs were present.
The mobile vaccination camp which has been organized by District Health Society Kargil and Block Medical Officer Kargil, is aimed to cover the left out population in the age group of 18-44 years including the local population as well non-locals.
Speaking on the occasion, CEC Feroz said that the purpose of the vaccination camp is to create awareness among those who have not taken the Covid vaccine yet. He further informed that the focus is on 18+ age group of which around 30,000 beneficiaries have already been vaccinated and the total vaccination among all age groups has reached to around 70,000 and to conduct this camp in Kargil Town is to cover more population in this drive.
DC Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve said that 75 percent population in the 18+ age group have been already covered and measures are being taken to ensure that the number touches 100 percent as soon as possible, so that the public remains safe from the virus. He further urged people to vaccinate themselves and their family so that in case the COVID-19 third wave emerges, there would be no need to lockdown and panic.
Meanwhile, Deputy CMO Dr Muhammad Abass briefed the CEC and DC about the purpose and procedure of the vaccination drive. He informed that during the weeklong COVDI-19 mop-up sessions, the left-out population will be vaccinated at TV Station Area, Choskore, Poyen Colony, Poyen, Baroo, Baroo Colony and Minjee area.
Similar mop-up sessions of COVID-19 vaccination are also being held in different blocks of the district to cover the left-out population of 18-44 years age group, the Deputy CMO informed.
