CEC Feroz Khan inaugurates new office building of SVD Sankoo, lays foundation stone for construction/up-gradation of link roads at Tai Suru
Convenes meeting of NHIDCL authorities, public representatives, PRI members regarding road re-alignment works of NH-301
KARGIL, JULY 13, 2021: Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan inaugurated the newly constructed Suru Valley Division (SVD) office building at Sankoo, laid the foundation stone for construction of various link roads in Taisuru Limb Namsuru to Goma Namsuru via Mutsey, inspected works being executed under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) at Gyaling village and also held a meeting with the Councilors, Nambardars and Sarpanchs from Baroo to Parkachik Constituency and the General Manager NHIDCL Colonel A K Shiva regarding the road re-alignment and other related issues of Kargil Zanskar Road (NH-301) here today.
Executive Councilor for Animal and Sheep Husbandry Aga Syed Hassan Armaan Mosavi, Executive Councilor for Works Aga Syed Abass Razvi, Executive Councilor for Tourism Er Punchok Tashi, Executive Councilor for Health Mohsin Ali, Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Kargil Abdul Zaffar Zargar, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Sankoo Ghulam Mohiuddin Wani, Executive Engineer SVD Sankoo Shabir Hussain, Executive Engineer PHE Subhash Chandra besides other concerned officers were present on the occasion.
CEC Feroz Khan was appraised by the concerned officers that construction work of the SVD double storey building was started during the year 2013- 2014 under the Languishing Project with the cost of Rs 3.50 crores, adding it was informed that complete construction work has been done including the furnishing and central heating system.
At Gyaling Village, CEC Feroz Ahmad Khan inspected the works being executed under the Jal Jeevan Mision (JJM) where the concerned officers informed him that around 41 Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTCs) have been provided in the area indulging both Yokma and Goma Gyaling.
CEC Khan directed the concerned officers to accelerate the pace of work to achieve the targets of JJM scheme which is to provide drinking water supply in adequate quantity of prescribed quality to every rural household on regular and long term basis within the stipulated timeframe which is 15th August, 2022.
Meanwhile, CEC Feroz Ahmed Khan also laid down the foundation stone for up gradation of various link roads in Taisuru Limb Namsuru to Goma Namsuru via Mustey.
The officers concerned apprised CEC Khan that the road construction work has been executed under SDP with a total cost around Rs 6 crores, total length of the road is around 2 and half kilometers and till now around 1300 meters of road construction works have been completed.
On the occasion, CEC Khan while addressing the inhabitants of the area said that the construction of this road will fulfill one of the long pending demand of the village. He also appreciated the contractor, engineers, operators and workers for executing the work in full pace, adding he also acknowledged cooperation of the villagers in execution of the road construction works without any hindrance.
The villagers thanked CEC Khan for taking personal interest in the road construction works and also put forward several demands and grievances.
CEC Khan gave a patient hearing to all demands and issues and assured that appropriate steps will be taken for early redressal.
Later, CEC Feroz Khan held a meeting with the General Manger (GM) National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL) Colonel A K Shiva, Councilors, Nambardars and Sarpanchs, from Baroo to Parkachik Constituency regarding the issue of the widening of the Kargil-Zanskar road NH-301.
The GM, NHIDCL apprised the CEC that the total length of the NH-301 from Andoo to Padum is around 230 kilometers and the project work is divided into 8 phases.
Detailed discussions and deliberations were held on various measures like width of the road, compensation for public property like land, trees and houses and other related issues.
The public representatives from the various constituencies put forward their suggestions and concerns regarding the re-alignment and widening of the road at different locations in their respective areas.
CEC Feroz Ahmed Khan gave a patient hearing to all suggestions and concerns and said that a fresh proposal will be sent to the higher authorities of NHIDCL to reduce the alignment of the road from 60 feet to 40 feet and advance compensation for property damage of the locals in the road construction way.
CEC Khan also directed the GM, NHIDCL to avoid any unnecessary damage to public property as much as possible, and also said that keeping in view the genuine demands of the public, an inclusive developmental policy needs to be developed so that the developmental works should not get effected, the sentiments and demands of the public are also given due consideration.
The CEC urged the NHIDCL authorities and locals to work in close coordination and extend support to each other for their mutual interest.
