BJP leader plants trees on World Environment Day

Jammu, June 05, 2021: BJP leader and Co-Convenor Sanskritik Cell Sumit Sharma along with other volunteers planted trees in Narwal Park to commemorate the World Environment Day here today.

Talking to media on the occasion Sumit emphasized the importance of tree plantation for the welfare of the community saying such initiatives would go along way in creating awareness among the public about the environment and how to preserve it through little contributions on a daily basis.

Sumit said these trees are an investment for the future generations that shall provide natural shade in open spaces and provide cleaner air to breathe by increasing green cover.

He said that the health of the environment is as important as the health of the individual adding he was happy to see the high enthusiasm exhibited by the people who came forward for the drive today.

Sumit asked the people to take a pledge of not only to plant trees but also nurture them in their neighborhood as the current Covid crisis has brought home the point about the importance of an enriched environment in our vicinities.

Sumit Sharma was accompanied by social workers Shivali Sharma, Sanjeev Singh, Sunil Singh, Ranjana, Rattan Singh, Neetu, Rajkumar, Ankit Sharma and other local residents.
