72nd Republic Day celebrated with enthusiasm across the Kashmir valley
Srinagar, January 26, 2021: 72nd Republic Day was celebrated today with enthusiasm and fervour across Kashmir valley.
Police and other security forces besides students from various schools and colleges participated in Republic Day parades in all the districts of Kashmir valley.
Various contingents of Police, Armed Police, ITBP, CAPFs, Home Guards, Fire & Emergency Services, Forest Protection Force, students from various schools and Youth Services & Sports participated in the Republic Day parades across Kashmir valley.
In Srinagar, Advisor to Lt. Governor Shri Baseer Ahmad Khan unfurled the National flag and took salute at the march past. IGP Kashmir Shri Vijay Kumar-IPS alongwith a galaxy of officers from Police and security forces were present on the occasion. After the parade, colourful cultural programmes depicting the life and culture of valley were presented. At the culmination of the Republic Day ceremony, participants were rewarded for their performances.
In other districts of the valley, Republic Day parades were held during which the national flag was unfurled and parade contingents marched. Various colourful cultural programmes were also presented after the parades.
In Budgam, Republic Day was celebrated at Sports Stadium Budgam. Deputy Commissioner Budgam Shri Shabaz Mirza-KAS unfurled the National Flag and took the salute at the March Past.
In Ganderbal, Republic Day was celebrated at Qamariya Stadium, Ganderbal. Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Shri Shafkat Iqbal-KAS unfurled the National Flag and took salute at the March Past.
In Anantnag, Republic Day was celebrated at District Police Lines Anantnag, in which Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Shri Anshul Garg-IAS took salute at the march past.
In Pulwama, Republic Day was celebrated with enthusiasm in District Police Lines Pulwama. DC Pulwama Dr. Raghav Langer-IAS unfurled the National Flag and took salute on the march past. The National Flag has also been unfurled at District Headquarters and other Police establishments of District Pulwama.
In Shopian, Republic Day was celebrated at District Police Lines Shopian. District Development Commissioner Shri Kant Balasahab Suse-IAS unfurled the tricolor and took salute at the march past.
In Kulgam, Republic Day was celebrated at District Police Lines Kulgam. Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Shri Showkat Aejaz Bhat-KAS unfurled the National Flag and took salute at the March Past.
In Awantipora, Republic Day was celebrated at District Police Lines Awantipora in which Additional Deputy Commissioner Awantipora Shri Zaffar Husson Shawl-KAS unfurled the national flag, inspected the parade and took salute at the march-past.
In Baramulla, Republic Day was celebrated at District Police Lines Baramulla. ADDC Baramulla Shri Aijaz Ahmad unfurled the National Flag and took salute at the March Past.
In Kupwara, Republic Day was celebrated at District Police Lines Kupwara. Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Shri Imam Din-KAS unfurled the National Flag and took salute at the March Past.
In Bandipora, Republic Day was celebrated at S.K Stadium Bandipora. Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Shri Owais Ahmad-IAS unfurled the National Flag and took salute at the March Past.
In Handwara, Republic Day was celebrated at District Police Lines Handwara. Additional Deputy Commissioner Handwara Shri Nazir Ahmad unfurled the National Flag and took salute at the March Past.
In Sopore, Republic Day was celebrated at Khushal Stadium Tulibal Sopore. Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore Shri Parvaiz Sajad-KAS unfurled the National Flag and took salute at the March Past.
At the culmination of the ceremony, prizes were distributed among the best contingents of parade, cultural programmes, meritorious students and other participants.
Large number of people witnessed the functions in all the districts of Kashmir valley.
