Vomedh founder Rohit Bhat felicitated by Maharashtra Chief Minister in Srinagar
Srinagar, September 18, 2023: Rohit Bhat, Founder and President Vomedh was felicitated by Chief Minister of Maharashtra in the presence of Honorable LG of JK UT in a glittering program at SKICC, Srinagar yesterday.
The program was organised by Pune based NGO Sarhad. Sarhad works in strife torn border regions especially Kashmir and has been applauded for its commendable work by PM Modi and Late President APJ Abdul Kalam. Rohit expressed happiness over the recognition. “Special recognitions like these boosts the morale of not just the recipient but the entire team and they are collectively motivated to contribute more. It also inspires the aspiring youth to go beyond the beaten paths and dream big. I thank my family, team and well-wishers on this occasion”, he said after the program.
On the 73rd birthday of PM Modi, the program was organised to felicitate 73 individuals from J&K for their distinguished services in their respective fields. Rohit was felicitated for his contribution in the field of theatre and culture. The program named Hum Sab Ek Hain marked the formal inauguration of the friendship chapter between J&K and Maharashtra. A special diamond ring was gifted as part of the felicitation which signified that the recipient is a diamond. The ring has Bharat inscribed on it and carries soil of all the parts of India.
Rohit is a prominent theatre director having founded Vomedh 16 years ago. He has produced and directed over 12 plays and scores of short plays. He has co-directed an award-winning short film. He is also co-director of the 2 reputed International Film Festivals in J&K namely Jammu Film Festival and The International film festival of Srinagar (TIFFS). Interestingly the second edition of TIFFS is scheduled from 25-26 Oct in Srinagar and one of his most famous plays Ek Aur Birbal is being staged in Jammu on 23rd Sep.
