Jammu, March 03, 2021: 28th Annual Football Championship kick started today the 3rd March 2021 at GGM. Science College grounds. The Inaugural match was played between DFA Udhampur & DFA Doda. DFA Udhampur defeated DFA Doda by Seven goals to Zero. The second match was played between DFA Samba & DFA Kishtwar. DFA Samba defeated DFA Kishtwar by four goals to one. The 3rd match was played between Param Sports Jammu & DFA Ramban. The match ended in 1-1draw. The match was decided by tie breaker in which Param FC defeated Ramban by 8-7 goals.
The Championship will be conducted at four Venues Srinagar, Jammu, Sopore and Anantnag from next year the Championship will be conducted in other Districts also to give a boost to the talent available in the Rural areas as well. At Jammu (22) twenty two teams will lock horns with each other and two teams who qualify will clash with teams from Srinagar, Sopore & Anantnag. The Kashmir Chapter of Championship will start from 2nd week of March in all the three Venue i.e. at Srinagar , Sopore & Anantnag.
The Championship at Jammu was inaugurated by Shri Z.A Thakur president JKFA among others who was present at the occasion were Shri S.S Bunty, Shri Fayaz Ahmad Sofi, Shri Narinder Gupta (Former Member Sports Council), Mr. Yusaf Don, Shri Featus Sotra, Mohan Lal & Prof.B.A Shah.
