World Cancer Day celebrated at Aryans
Fortis and Aryans organized a Webinar on "Cancer Awareness: Facts & Prevention"
Jammu, February 04, 2021: With the aim to create awareness about the importance of preventive measures of Cancer, World Cancer Day was celebrated today under the theme ‘I Am and I Will’ at Aryans Institute of Nursing, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh in association with Fortis Hospital, Mohali. Dr. Naval Bansal, Breast, Thyroid & Endocrine Cancer Surgeon, Fortis Hospital interacted with the students of GNM, ANM, B. Pharmacy and D. Pharmacy. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over the webinar.
Dr. Bansal while interacting with students said that Cancer is a disease in which abnormal cells divide without control and can invade other tissues. Cancer cells can spread to other parts of the body through the blood and lymph systems. There are more than 100 kinds of cancer, he added.
Bansal while explaining preventive measures of cancer he said that healthy life style not only helps to prevent many diseases like diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and thyroid etc but proves to be the savior from cancer as well.
He further stressed on various important factors including nutritious diet, avoiding tobacco & midday sun, maintaining a healthy weight and be physically active & get regular medical care.
