Vijay Bakaya condemns insensitive remarks of MoS Menakshi Lekhi
JAMMU, August 03, 2021: Apni Party, General Secretary, Vijay Bakaya today criticized the insensitive remarks of Minister of State for Culture and Foreign Affairs Ms Meenakshi Lekhi on the trivializes of human tragedy.
While reacting to a video clip circulating in social media, in which MOS Culture and Foreign Affairs Ms Meenakshi Lekhi is interacting with KP Social activists regarding return and rehabilitation of the KP community in Kashmir, Vijay Bakaya expressed shock that the analogy of migrant labour who has been used for the forced migration of Kashmiri Pandits in the year 1990.
Bakaya was anguished at the insensitivity of the remark which trivialises a human tragedy which shook the conscience of the world.
Bakaya stated that Ms Lekhi was explaining the Central Government’s policy regarding rehabilitation of KPs who were uprooted from their land, but instead of reassurance about correcting a horrendous wrong, there was acceptance of and resignation to the present reality.
Bakaya said that the Central Govt should clarify whether this is its stand regarding rehabilitation of displaced KP’s.
