Two laborers killed, three others injured in Ramban mishap
Bus carrying Rail project laborers plunges into gorge at Sangaldan
Ramban, April 09, 2021: Two laborers were killed while three others sustained serious injuries after a bus carrying workers of a railway project met with an accident at Bralla in Gool Sub Division of Ramban district.
Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that bus was carrying laborers of a rail project plunged into a roadside gorge at Bralla.
Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Musarrat Zia said that company bus of Age-Patel working on USBRL project met with an accident in which two persons were killed.
He said three persons have also received injuries, who have been referred to District Hospital Ramban for treatment.
Meanwhile, officials said that bus carrying Patel Engineering employees fell into a deep gorge near Chikani where Tunnel construction is underway.
As soon as the news spread about the accident, the local people and Police Post Sangaldan team led by SDPO Gool Pardeep Kumar and In Charge Police Post Sangaldaan Inspector Waseem Ahmad rushed to the site and started rescue operation.
Two persons identified as Ranjeet Singh, son of Krishan Lal and Muhammad Rafiq, son of Ghulam Muhammad Bhat— both residents of Seripora, Tetharka were found dead on spot, they said.
The three injured persons identified as Jahangir Ahmed, son of Abdullah Bhat of Bhandan, Muhammad Wasim, son of Muhammad Ramzan of Badakund, Ashmar and Sajad Ahmad (driver), son of Muhammad Sultan of Bhandan Sangaldan have been shifted to District Hospital Ramban.
Meanwhile, police has taken cognizance of the incident and investigation is underway—(KNO)
