Suspected IED destroyed on Rajouri highway

Rajouri, February 17, 2021: The security forces have destroyed the suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) like material, found along Rajouri-Poonch highway in Manjakote area of Rajouri district.

According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the material was found lying along highway near Yadunath bridge of Manjakote on Wednesday morning by Road Opening Patrol (ROP) of Army following which a security high alert was issued and highway was closed for traffic.

“After hours-long operation, the suspected material was destroyed through a controlled explosion by Army and Police Bomb Squads,” said officials.

They said that investigation into the matter is going on and search operation is also going on in the area—(KNO)
