Jammu, April 11, 2022 : The second edition of the Jammu Film Festival is all set to be held on 3rd and 4th September this year. This was disclosed by the organizers in a media briefing today.
“The 2 day event was originally scheduled to be held in March this year. But the third wave of Covid which hit the country in the beginning of the year impacted the schedule. There was no option but to push it by a couple of months. However, the organizing team decided to push it a little more and do it when the summer and monsoons are over in Jammu”, informed Rohit Bhat, the festival director.
“We have received around 150 entries from 21 countries. Feature films are also part of the festival in second edition. The window for entries is closed now”, said Mustaq Kak, the head of jury for the festival. The jury includes Director Rahul Sharma (Geetiyan fame), Film producer Kapil Matoo, Film critic Amit Singh, Actor Lalit Parimoo and an Iranian filmmaker Ali Mohammad.
“We want to raise the bar with every edition of the festival and give a world class festival experience to participants. We are very sure that we don’t want to do a virtual edition because it is the physical event that makes Jammu film festival what it is. So, we won’t compromise on these aspects. The second edition is definitely going to be bigger and better”, said Rakesh Roshan Bhat, the man behind the festival and the festival director.
Famous actor Mir Sarwar who is part of the Bollywood advisory team appealed to the youth to make use of such opportunities and platforms to give wings to their dreams.
