Rich tributes paid to Vijay Malla Sursamrat; music, melody at its best

Jammu, May 9, 2024: Budding Kashmiri singers cast spells on the audiences in ‘Kashur Kalakaar Season-7’, a musical tribute to legendary singer late Sh Vijay Malla, organised by Athrot Cultural Foundation at Writers Club Abhinav Theatre, here today.

The music and melody was at its best and the performances of young singers mesmerized one and all as they were making allout efforts to carry forward the legacy of late Sh Vijay Malla.

It was observed that some of the songs of Sh Vijay Malla sung by young singers brought tears to the audience, who otherwise, were busy in cheering and promoting the participants.

Sh Vijay Sharma, DC Relief was the chief guest on the occasion, while Sh Ajey Bharti, former MLC presided over the function.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest, Sh Vijay Sharma, along with other dignitaries including eminent Educationist Prof BL Zutshi, Social Activist Ms Sandhya Dhar and Social Activist Sh MK Yogi lavished praise on Athrot Cultural Foundation for holding the event in the memory of the iconic singer in a most befitting manner.

While appreciating the contribution of former great singer Vijay Malla in the singing field, they termed him ‘Sursamrat’ of singing world.

All the dignitaries appreciated young singers for their fabulous performances.

They said that these young singers possess all that is required to blossom at the highest level to conquer the singing world.

Famous singer Shanti Lal Sidh announced the singers who qualified for the grand finale.

The singers who have qualified for the finals included Naisha Bhat, Vanshika Kaw, Suhas Koul, Lavanya Koul, Nirmit Raina, Daksh Bhat, and Parthi Dhar.

Earlier, Sh Kanwal Peshin, Writer, Singer and Social Activist presented a welcome address and paid rich tributes to late Sh Vijay Malla.

The proceedings of the programme were beautifully conducted by famous anchor, Ms Kusum Tickoo.

The event was held under the overall supervision of Directors of Athrot Foundation, Mr Abhimanyu Peshin and Ms RK Pandita and Ayush Bhat The program was coordinated by Dr Ramesh Razdan

Meanwhile several organizations in Jammu and other parts of India and abroad also organized programmes to pay tributes to legendary singer Vijay Malla.

Famous Music Composer Kuldeep Saproo released an old composition of his recording with Vijay Malla Ji to pay tributes to the singer on his death anniversary.

Kuldeep Saproo’s Music video was widely appreciated by the online community who remembered Vijay Malla on his death anniversary through this musical tribute.
