Retired MS Sunita Puri, NC’s District Secretary join Apni Party
Joining indicates divisive politics has no place in Jammu: Gh. Hassan Mir
Jammu, April 3, 2021: Retired Medical Superintendent Sunita Puri and District Secretary of National Conference, Randhir Singh Raipuria today joined Apni Party at the Party Office in Gandhi Nagar in presence of senior leaders.
In a statement to the press, the joining programme was organized in presence of Vice President Ghulam Hassan Mir, General Secretary Vijay Bakaya, General Secretary Vikram Malhotra, Provincial President, Jammu, Manjit Singh, Provincial President, Women Wing, Jammu, Namrta Sharma, Schedule Caste State Coordinator, Bodh Raj Bhagat, J&K Trade Union President, Ajaz Kazmi, Provincial Secretary Dr Rohit Gupta, Provincial President Jammu Youth Wing Gourav Kapoor, Jammu District President Rural – A, Pushp Dev Uppal and others.
Welcoming them into the Party, Ghulam Hassan Mir said that the joining of intellectuals of Jammu indicates that people have accepted that there is no place for emotional and divisive politics.
“They want politics of truth and not the politics of emotional sloganeering and division of people on the name of region and religion,” said Mir.
He said the Apni Party believes in the politics of unity and not the division of society.
“The politics of division has created problems for both the regions. Time has come when people from both the regions should support each other,” he said.
In his address, General Secretary Vijay Bakaya welcomed the retired Medical Superintendent and National Conference leader and hoped that their joining will help in the strengthening of the Party.
General Secretary, Vikram Malhotra, speaking on the occasion, said that the joining of intellectuals indicates the party’s agenda and policies being accepted by the people in Jammu.
“The people are attracted towards the developmental policies of the Apni Party. The BJP which received overwhelming response from the people of Jammu has failed to perform and instead, their leaders have been trying to hoodwink the people,” said Malhotra. He said the Apni Party believes in unity and equality.
Speaking on the occasion, Provincial President, Manjit Singh said that the BJP has lost its ground due to its hollow slogans and divisive politics. “People are suffering because of price rise of essential commodities, petrol, diesel, and gas prices,” he said.
He said that development is nowhere in Jammu and roads are in shabby condition.
Meanwhile, Provincial President, Women Wing, Jammu, Namrta Sharma said that “The leaders and workers of Apni Party are working among the people to redress their day to day issues. And, the ground workers are the backbone of the party.”
Namrta said that the joining of well educated and members of civil society shows that the Party has been able to win the hearts of the people in Jammu. “We have emerged as a hope in the darkness,” she added. Besides, other leaders also spoke on the occasion. Prominent among the active members of Apni Party include Raj Sharma, Janmeet Singh Bali, Kulwant Singh, and others.
