Restore statehood of J&K: Bhim

Save the state from the present crisis: JKNPP

Jammu, January 11, 2021:Prof.Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of J&K National Panthers Party has urged the President of India, Shri Ramnath Kovind for his urgent intervention to save the state of J&K and Ladakh from the hungry hawks hovering over the skies of J&K. J&K has been reduced to a Union Territory by the Govt. of India on August 5, 2019 thus causing damage at international level to one of the oldest states in India whose foundation was laid in 1846 by Maharaja Gulab Singh, the first Dogra Maharaja of J&K.

NPP Supremo after his three days medical treatment in a local hospital was received by several senior party leaders, young Panthers, activists of NPSU and trade union. He sent a strong message to the political parties operating in J&K advising them to hold a joint conference at the earliest so that the state of J&K may be restored back without any delay as was promised by the Prime Minister of India.

Prof.Bhim Singh said that people of J&K are used to snowfall, thunders, avalanches and landslides. Recommending thousands of crores of rupees at this stage to build industries in J&K shall not solve the problem unless statehood of J&K and its identity is restored back. Half of the problem of the people of the state shall be resolved if the state of J&K is restored. He has urged the Parliament to revive declaration of Maharaja Hari Singh that he made in 1928 giving special status to the residents of J&K which was fully supported by the Members of the Constituent Assembly of India in 1949 when Constitution of India was declared and J&K was given a special status which was officially granted in Article 370. He said that Article 370(i) has been saved. Its’ only three clauses have been removed. He said that one of the clauses of Article 370 had mentioned about powers of the Parliament that Parliament had no power to make any law in respect of J&K as was mentioned in the Constitution.

NPP Supremo who is also a senior advocate in the Supreme Court of India urged the President of India to advice the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi to reconsider the Act of Parliament dated 05.08.2019 and reconsider it because the Parliament had failed to consider the fate of the Instrument of Accession of J&K which was signed by Maharaja Hari Singh on October 26, 1947 and approved by the then Governor-General of India, Lord Mountbatten. He regretted that the esteemed Parliament failed to understand the history and the negative impact of the Act of Parliament dated 05.08.2019. J&K deserves urgent attention of the Parliament and even by converting the Parliament into a Constituent Assembly to approve Accession of J&K with the Union of India which was not done by the Parliament when the Constitution of India was released on January 26, 1950.

Removing Article 370 without approving the Accession of J&K with the Union of India as was done in respect of 575 princely states. The Parliament had to consider this constitutional issue before just firing half of Article 370 only for giving an opportunity to BJP to beat hollow drums.

Prof.Bhim Singh declared that a coordination committee of J&K shall hold an urgent conference at the earliest to work out a resolution to integrate J&K with the rest of the country. The representatives of the entire J&K shall be invited. The representatives of Gilgit-Baltistan and POK shall also be invited in the conference so that J&K shall be reunited.

He urged the President of India to invite the Prime Minister of India to constitute a parliamentary committee in this regard so that all legal issues may be resolved in the light of Instrument of Accession signed by Maharaja Hari Singh in respect of the entire state of J&K measuring 84,000 sq. miles.
