Restoration of Article 370 linked with Kashmir’s future generations; will fight for it all alone: Omar Abdullah
‘We were expecting support from other political parties but they are silent; Unfortunate to see Azad saying it’s useless to talk about Article 370; If special status was hollow, why was it snatched, Our case before SC strong’
Kishtwar, November 29, 2021: Former chief minister of J&K and the National Conference vice-president Omar Abdullah Monday said that restoration of article 370 was linked with the future generations of Kashmir and the NC will fight for its restoration all alone.
Addressing a public gathering at Kishtwar, Omar said that it was unfortunate to see silence of the parties who were otherwise expected to raise voice for the restoration of Article 370. “Let me tell you that the restoration of Article 370 is linked with Kashmir’s future generations. Now that other parties are silent, we will fight for its restoration all alone,” he said as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
He said that it was unfortunate to see senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad stating that it was useless to talk about Article 370 as it has gone forever. “It was the Congress Prime Minister Pandit Jawhar Lal Nehru in whose time Article 370 was extended to J&K. Article 370 is Congress legacy and when there is hearing over it in the Supreme Court, you are announcing your own verdict,” Omar said, adding that J&K’s case in the apex court over Article 370 was very strong.
He said that Article 370 is linked with the people of J&K, their children, their land, and their property etc. “There is no question of keeping mum over it. If other parties have decided to remain silent, no problem, but NC will fight for it all alone along with the people of J&K,” he said—(KNO)
