RDD Ladakh organizes awareness programme on Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) at Goma Minji
KARGIL, JUNE 15, 2021: Rural Development Department (RDD), Ladakh organized an awareness programme on solid and plastic waste management at Panchayat Halqa Goma Minji here on Monday.
Director RDD and Panchayati Raj Ladakh Tahir Hussain Zubdavi, Councillor Minji Ghulam Mehdi Sheikh, District Panchayat Officer (DPO) Kargil Padma Angmo, BDC Chairperson Kargil Khatija Banoo, other officers and officials of RDD, PRI members and the local villagers were present on the occasion.
During the course of the awareness programme, speakers including the Director RDD Ladakh and DPO Kargil enlightened the villagers about Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) Phase II and the importance of solid waste management for ensuring cleanliness and hygiene for healthy living.
The Director RDD and DPO Kargil urged the villagers to play proactive role in coordinating with the Rural Development Department in the smooth and successful implementation of various government schemes on ground for benefit of the rural population.
The speakers also urged the villagers to abstain from burning domestic and household waste. They informed that the waste vehicle will visit the village once a week to transport the waste to the segregation shed.
The villagers were urged to extend full cooperation from their side for successful implementation of the solid waste management initiatives in their area.
