Rahul Gandhi pays obeisance at Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine, participates in Aarti

To address party convention at Jammu tommorow

Jammu, September 09, 2021: All Indian Congress Committee vice-president and Member Parliament Rahul Gandhi on Thursday paid obeisance at Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine and also participated in evening Atka Aarti.

Rahul Gandhi, who arrived in winter capital on a two-day visit Thursday, moved towards holy town Katra, the base camp of Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine and walked on foot to the famous cave shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi in Trikuta hills of Reasi district.

Officials said that hundreds of youth Congress workers accompanied him throughout the difficult 12-kilometers long trek.

Gandhi reached Bhawan in the evening hours and also participated in Atka Aarti.

Earlier, Gandhi was accorded a rousing reception at the Jammu airport by party workers and leaders.

The Congress MP will address a workers’ convention at Jammu on Friday and will meet separate delegations of local leaders during a luncheon meeting, they said.

He will return to Delhi late in the evening, the sources said. This is Gandhi’s second visit to Jammu and Kashmir within a month. He was in Srinagar on August 9 and 10. He had visited the Kheer Bhawani temple in Kashmir’s Ganderbal district and the Hazratbal shrine before inaugurating the party’s new office in Srinagar—(KNO)
