Prominent leaders from Billawar join Apni Party in presence of Altaf Bukhari

JAMMU, Aug 04, 2021: Prominent leader from Billawar constituency alongwith over a dozen supporters joined Apni Party in Jammu in presence of Party President Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari.

In a statement to the press, the joining programme was organised here at Gandhi Nagar Office of the Party in which prominent leaders from Billawar, Kannav Khajuria and others joined the Party.

Provincial President, Jammu, Manjit Singh was also present on the occasion.

Welcoming them into the Party, Altaf Bukhari referred to the underdevelopment in Billawar constituency and lack of basic amenities.

He said that since decades, Billawar has been represented by senior leaders from various political parties yet the developmental aspect of the area remained ignored which has put thousands of people to suffer.

“Development, health infrastructure, education system and road connectivity are still the main concerns of the people in Billawar which need to be addressed. Putting people to hardship by continuously ignoring their demands for development is unfortunate,” he said.

He hoped that the leaders from Billawar who have joined the Party will work in the constituency.

Speaking on the occasion, Kannav Khajuria said that there is growing demand of Pahari District Status to Billawar since the people have to cover long distances to reach district headquarter i.e., Kathua.

“Kathua is far away from us and it puts an additional burden on the people. The people are suffering due to lack of developmental activities and therefore, they should be given a Pahari District status by the Government,” he said.

He said that Billawar had a Deputy Chief Minister in the last coalition Government but that too could not bring development for them in the area.

President, Apni Trade Union, Ajaz Kazmi, Provincial Secretary, Dr Rohit Gupta, SC State Coordinator Bodh Raj Bhagat and others were present on the occasion.
