Prof.Bhim Singh, Exec.Chairman, SLAC disagrees with LG’s statement on PSA detenus in J&K
Jammu, July 19, 2021: Shri Manoj Sinha, Lt. Governor of J&K made an exclusive statement from Jammu and Kashmir that there was no detenu in J&K jails under Public Safety Act. Only two days after the High Court of J&K ordered the release of two detenus who were in jail detained under J&K Public Safety Act. Again, the next day J&K High Court ordered the release of another detenu who was detained illegally under PSA.
Prof.Bhim Singh, Executive Chairman of State Legal Aid Committee, J&K & Sr. Advocate in the Supreme Court of India has expressed shock on the wrong information provided by J&K bureaucracy to Lt. Governor, Shri Manoj Sinha.
Prof.Bhim Singh expressed shock that not a single word came from the side of Lt. Governor for having made a wrong statement that there was ‘not a single person detained under PSA’. Prof.Bhim Singh who is also President of J&K National Panthers Party expressed shock on such a statement by the Lt. Governor only because he has blind faith in the information provided by the bureaucracy and the police.
Prof.Bhim Singh hoped that Shri Manoj Sinha, Lt. Governor in future may be pleased to confirm the information he is provided by the senior bureaucrats and the police bosses. He also expressed surprise that not a single organisation including the Legal Aid Board of J&K or the political leadership in J&K had come out to expose such lies as briefed to the Lt.Governor.
