Jammu, March 03, 2021: Ishfaq-Ul-Rehman Poswal submits memorandum to |LG J&K regarding the issues of Gujjar Bakerwal Community (J&K)
Today Political activist of Jammu & Kashmir Ishfaq-Ul-Rehman Poswal call upon LG Manoj Sinha and submitted memorandum of demands regarding upliftment of Gujjar Bakerwal Community and Integrating them with India.
As per the statement issued Ishfaq-Ul-Rehman Poswal hold threadbare discussion regarding rich culture of J&K which includes different heritages, languages along with traditional Gojri Language widely spoken by Gujjar Bakerwal Tribes across J&K.
Ishfaq-Ul-Rehman Poswal stated to LG that In the year 2007, a moment led Ishfaq-Ul-Rehman Poswal under the Banner of Akhil Bhartiya Gujjar Mahasabha (J&K) was started to Integrate the Tribal Gujjar Bakerwal Community with Nation (PAN India) and first demonstration was held in 2007 at Lal Chowk (Srinagar) wherein sever issues of Gujjar Community was brought into the notice of Government regarding:
- Setting up of Ministry of Tribal Affairs in J&K.
- Implementation of Tribal Sub Plan, proportionate to population as per the constitution of India.
- Political Reservation
- Rehabilitation of Nomads (Gujjar Bakerwal in J&K).
After the abrogation of Article 370, Government of India and the Government of J&K (UT) claims to bring major reforms Industrialization, Infrastructure Development, Generating New Employment Avenues) that pave way towards development in J&K and as such that is quite appreciable and must be implemented in true letter and spirit.
Ishfaq-Ul-Rehman Poswal during meeting with LG Manoj Sinha stated that Government is heading towards resolving the issues of Gujjar Bakerwal Community and will take note of his contribution that were Projected in the year 2007 during Nationalist Movement with a motto of Integrating Tribal Community with Nation.
Ishfaq-Ul-Rehman Poswal suggested that (Maharashtra State Model) should be implemented in J&K although Ministry of Tribal Affairs in J&K exist.
As far as the issue of Implementation of Tribal Sub Plan is concerned, he said that he is not part of Government but as of now (After the Abrogation of Article 370) it is assure that the existing Laws under Constitution of India (Norms of Ministry of Tribal Affairs) are not implemented in J&K which is a matter of concern.
Furthermore Ishfaq-Ul-Rehman Poswal urge LG towards Political Reservation, Ishfaq-Ul-Rehman Poswal that Gujjar Bakerwal Community will get due representation in the ongoing delimitation process.
As such Ishfaq-Ul-Rehman Poswal thank GoI and LG Manoj Sinha for implementing Forest Right Act in J&K but also requested that Government must conduct survey regarding the number of homeless families belonging to Gujjar Bakerwal Tribes and that survey will also definitely prove beneficial towards their rehabilitation.
In the last Ishfaq-Ul-Rehman Poswal thanked LG Manoj Sinha for his valuable time with a hope that above mentioned points that are submitted to his Excellency Mr Sinha in the memorandum which have also raised by him time to time during his movement will be taken into consideration positively with a positive note that Government of J&K and GoI will not leave him aside and take him along in framing the policies, laws related to benefit the Gujjar Bakerwal Tribes (J&K)
