Police arrests notorious drug peddler in Kulgam;1.30 kilograms cannabis and cash ₹2.99lacs recovered
Kulgam, September 07, 2020: Continuing its efforts to eradicate drug menace from the society, Police have arrested a notorious drug peddler in Kulgam and recovered contraband substance & cash from his possession.
On specific information regarding drug peddling at Aadpora Kulgam, a police party led by SHO Kulgam raided a suspected spot (cowshed) and arrested a notorious drug peddler. He has been identified as Mubarak Ahmad Wani resident of Rangrezpora Kulgam. During checking, officers were able to recover 1.30 kilograms of Cannabis powder and cash ₹2,99,200/- (Two lakh Ninety-nine thousand and two hundred) from his possession. He has been shifted to PS Kulgam where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 166/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Kulgam and investigation into the matter has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
