Police arrests 02 notorious drug peddlers in Budgam; Contraband substance recovered
Srinagar, October 05, 2021: Continuing its efforts to curb the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested 02 notorious drug peddlers in Budgam and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
Officers from Police Post Soibugh at a checkpoint established at Farashgund Soibugh near petrol pump intercepted two persons identified as Arif Ahmed Bhat son of Ghulam-din Bhat and Muzamil Ahmed Bhat son of Mohammad Sultan Bhat both residents of Wadwan Jagir Budgam. During checking, officers were able to recover 85 grams of Charas from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation has been set into motion.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
