Pluralistic way of life holds promise for harmonious society: Rana
Nagrota, January 13, 2021: National Conference Provincial President Mr Devender Singh Rana today said that pluralistic way of life holds promise for harmonious society, especially in a place as diverse as Jammu and Kashmir.
“J&K has been abode of the people belonging to different faiths, who have been sharing each others’ joys by being part of the festivals, which forge the spirit of brotherhood and camaraderie”, Mr Rana said while interacting with people during Lohri Celebrations at Nagrota and Dansal this evening.
The celebrations were attended by the Hindus and Muslims of various peripheral areas in true traditions of the composite ethos of Jammu and Kashmir.
Mr Rana greeted the people on the occasion and hoped this spirit of inclusiveness to flourish leaps and bounds for bringing harmony and tranquility in the society. This is imperative for further strengthening the bonds of amity especially in the backdrop of deepening wedge between different segments of society. Though a worldwide phenomenon yet Jammu and Kashmir has not allowed itself to get hovered under the dark clouds of hatred and it continues to show the path of enlightenment.
The Provincial President said all religions stand for love, amity and selfless service but their teachings should not be allowed to fall silent in the din of hate and greed. To eschew these tendencies, there is an immense need of generating awareness about the unity and diversity as professed by all religions, he maintained.
The Provincial President said the best way of celebrating festivals is to take a pledge to follow the path of righteousness in letter and spirit and work for building a society based on the natural principles of social justice, equality, compassion, love and togetherness. This will help build a society based on mutual trust and respect; he said and urged the people to spread the message of love in a big way.
