NH-1 Dance and Music Festival concludes in Leh
Leh, October 03, 2021: Three-day long ‘NH-1 Dance and Music Festival’ concluded today at the Sindhu Sanskriti Kendra, Leh. Deputy Commissioner Leh, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse was the chief guest for the occasion whereas Councillors of LAHDC Leh, District officers led by ADC Leh, AD Information Leh, Dy Secy Ladakh Academy of Art and Culture Leh, Executive Engineer Construction Division Leh were the guest of honour. Bollywood dance sensation and a professional choreographer in the film industry, Sheetal Perry was the special guest during the occasion.
Addressing the closing function, DC Shrikant Suse stated that the festival is aimed towards encouraging talented local youths and provide them good platforms to showcase their talents. He extended his gratitude to the Executive Council of LAHDC Leh led by the Chairman/CEC, Advocate Tashi Gyalson for taking a keen interest and supporting the youths of Leh to conduct such events at a grand level. Lauding the performances during the closing event, DC Shrikant stated that youths must take advantage of such platforms and nurture their raw talents in future. He further added the Hill Council and District Administration will continue to extend their assistance further to encourage the youths of Ladakh.
Earlier a two-day dance workshop session was conducted by the organisers where participants were given dance classes by choreographer Sheetal Pery. The festival concluded with vibrant contemporary cultural shows by young local musicians, dance performances by young artists as well as groups of student organisations, and it also had a start dance performance from the special guest, Sheetal Pery. All the artists, workshop participants and volunteers were felicitated in the end.
The event was organised as a part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration and was hosted by Team Ladakh (a group of dance enthusiasts from Ladakh) in collaboration with the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Leh.
