National Lok Adalat held at Kargil
161 cases disposed off, Rs 25236183 recovered as settlement amount/fine
KARGIL, JULY 10, 2021: As per the directions of National Legal Services Authority and the project plan for focus implementation for the year 2021 issued under the patronage of the Patron in Chief, Ladakh Legal Services Authority Justice Pankaj Mithal Chief Justice J&K High Court and under the directions of the Executive Chairman Ladakh Legal Services Authority Justice Dheeraj Singh Thakur, Judge Common High Court of J&K and Ladakh, National Lok Adalat was organised by the District Legal Services Authority Kargil under the guidance of Chairman District Legal Services Authority Kargil Mohd Rafiq Chak for different kinds of cases which included MACT, matrimonial, cheque bounce cases under NI Act, money recovery suits, labour disputes, PUS matters and other civil cases etc.
In this connection, 4 benches were constituted out of which bench 1st was presided over by the Principal District and Sessions Judge Kargil Mohd Rafiq Chak, 2nd bench by the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Kargil Tsewang Phunstog, bench 3rd was presided over by Munsiff Sankoo Moneer Ahmad while 4th bench by the Assistant Commissioner Revenue Kargil Abdul Gaffar Zargar.
A total no of 251 cases were referred to the Lok Adalat, out of which 161 cases were disposed off and an amount of Rs 25236183 was recovered as settlement amount/fine on the occasion.
