Jammu, February 03, 2021: BJP J&K general secretary Vibodh Gupta attended the BJP’s weaver cell meeting in party headquarters at Trikutanagar. BJP all-cell in-charge Rakesh Mahajan, convenor weaver cell Balkrishn Sharma and co-convenor Bushan Sharma, Executive members(weaver cell), district convenors and co-convenors of the cell were present on the occasion.
Convenor weaver cell Balkrishn Sharma raised demands regarding the establishment of Jammu Haat and branch of weaver service centre Kashmir in Jammu. He further discussed the core issues of cell and also apprised Vibodh Gupta and Rakesh Mahajan on the strategy of framing district bodies in order to reach every section of weaver society in J&K.
Vibodh Gupta after giving a patient hearing assured BJP weaver cell of raising their long pending genuine demands. He further addressed the members of the cell and spoke on the rationale behind establishing cells such as weaver cell, fisherman cell, etc.
“BJP works for every section of society on the lines of Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas Aur Sabka Vishwas. Therefore, through these cells, the party gives importance to the views of every section by connecting with people from all classes and onus of connecting people with party lies on the office-beares of these cells”, Vibodh said.
Vibodh further said that BJP under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi is committed to create a robust ecosystem for growth and empowerment of weavers and other entrepreneurs in J&K. He further highlighted the achievements of Skill India and said that Skill India led the creation of vast infrastructure for skilling, re-skilling , upskilling and enhancing opportunities for access to employment, both locally and globally which has strengthened every section of society.
Vibodh further said that Skill India is the foundation for Make in India and will have far reaching impact on various aspects of Indian economy. He urged the cell member to motivate youth to participate in Skill India, Make in India and startups and other programmes sponsored by center to empower youth. Youth should be encouraged to work for New India by enhancing their skills, he added. He further stressed on the need of organising training camps or sessions as the weaving sector has the potential to generate the employment.
Speaking on the occasion, BJP all cell in-charge Rakesh Mahajan said that BJP government has brought various welfare schemes for all sections of society including the weavers. He urged the members of BJP weaver cell to organise regular interactions with the weavers of their respective areas and apprise them with the schemes of central government.
Rakesh further promised to actively take up the demands of weaver section for their over-all development. He said that youth should be skilled in handlooms and handicraft to further strengthen the Skill India mission. He urged them to organise training camps to enrol youth and women to the weaving sector especially in the rural areas.
