Manjit Singh visits flood hit Mananu village in Samba  

Vijaypur, July 29, 2021: Apni Party, Provincial President, Jammu, Manjit Singh today visited flash flood affected areas of Nud Block in Samba District and demanded adequate compensation to the victim families.

During his visit to Mananu village, Manjit Singh was accompanied by Apni Party, District President, Samba, Raman Thappa.

As per the statement to the press, Manjit Singh was appraised by the locals about damages they have suffered in the flash floods. “The flood water gushed into their houses causing damage to their household items, and property,” Manjit Singh said.

He said that the corps was also damaged and the agricultural fields had been filled with the silt following the flood. “The nallah needs to be desilted but the concerned department has ignored it despite request to them by the locals,” he alleged.

He said that the neglecting of the Schedule Caste population of their rights will not be tolerated. “I have spoken to the Deputy Commissioner, Samba about the scenario following the flash flood in Mananu village and the DC has assured all possible help,” said Manjit Singh.

He also demanded that the people who have been affected with the flash flood should be provided tents, ration and immediate medical care.
