Manjit Singh seeks property rights for farmers in Jabowal Panchayat in Bishnah

Jammu, July 31, 2021: Apni Party, Provincial President, Jammu, Manjit Singh today demanded property rights for the farmers in Jabowal Panchayat, Bishnah.

A meeting of active leaders and workers of the Party was organised by District President Rural-B, Neljan Arora in Jabowal in which issues of farmers in border Panchayat were discussed.

Addressing during the programme, Provincial President, Jammu, Manjit Singh said that the farmers have concerns over the use of land which comes under fence and ahead of fence as the Govt. has not granted them ownership rights on the land.

“The agricultural land has been allotted in the names of the Displaced Persons but they have no property right on the land they are holding which is a grave cause of concern for them,” said Manjit Singh.

He demanded that the farmers should be given property rights on the land they are holding so that they can get compensation. “There is fear that their land may be taken over by the Govt for various purposes and they may not be entitled for the compensation despite keeping the land protected for years following its allotment to them,” he said.
