Khushbu Sundar’s vehicle meets with accident, actor says ‘Lord Murugan has saved us’
Chennai, November 18, 2020: Actor-turned-politician Khushbu Sundar escaped unhurt after a container truck hit the a multi purpose vehicle she was travelling in near Melmaruvathur in Chengalpet district of Tamil Nadu on Wednesday morning.
The accident happened at Ayyanarkoil on the Chennai – Trichy National Highway around 9.30am when Khushbu was going to Cuddalore to participate in BJP’s Vetrivel Yatra. Khushbu, who was the spokesperson in Congress, joined the BJP in October.

The actor tweeted, “With your blessings and God’s grace, I am safe. Will continue my journey towards Cuddalore to participate in VelYaatrai. Police are investigating the case. Lord Murugan has saved us. My husband’s trust in him is seen,” the actor tweeted, sharing pictures of her damaged car.
She also tweeted, “Request the press to understand that a container rammed into me and not the other way. My car was on the move in the right lane and this container came from nowhere and rammed into me. Police are investigating n questioning the driver to rule out any foul play.”
Many BJP men gathered at the accident spot, and Khushbu left in an another vehicle. Truck driver Abdul Hakim was handed over to the Mathuranthagam police.
The Tamil Nadu BJP is holding the yatra despite the state government refusing to give permission to it citing Covid-19. The month-long rally, covering six abodes of Lord Murugan, began in Tiruttani on November 6. Police arrested the participants at Tiruttani on November 6 and elsewhere on the following days. The yatra is scheduled to culminate at Tiruchendur temple.
