Bhim Singh takes over as JKNPP President , sends message to all for ‘haq & insaaf’

Jammu, February 13, 2021: In his message after taking over as President of JKNPP, he conveyed to all including people from the streets to the state of Jammu & Kashmir hoping that “All shall keep faith and confidence in me being elected after 25 years as Chief of JKNPP. He said that we shall all fight for truth and justice, equality and equity for all, irrespective of their religion, region, caste or class. He appealed to all old friends, party colleagues who had at different times for one reason or the other disassociated from the Panthers Party to return to the family fold, Panthers Party, which was founded in 1982 by us all. He appealed to all those founders and all including ex-legislators, office bearers to return back to the Panthers Party. He hoped that all including Shri Uday Chand, Shri Faqir Nath, ex-MLA, Mohd. Rafiq Shah, ex-MLC and all others shall be welcomed with open hands to return to the party with a tri-colour and tri-star flag in hands so that the Panthers Party shall re-start its campaign from Ladakh to Lakhanpur and convey this movement upto Kanyakumari. He said that the Panthers Party stands for ‘haq-insaaf’, unity and brotherhood.”

          He said that political party activists have been suffering several pains, jails, police stations and even police lathicharge for decades. He assured that the Panthers Party shall continue its peaceful fight for justice and equity. He also hoped that two other recognized parties, NC and PDP shall also cooperate with the Panthers Party movement to seek justice, equality and political freedom in Jammu and Kashmir.

i)                   Panthers Party is committed for restoration of statehood of J&K and Ladakh and its reorganization so that J&K shall also share the fruits of fundamental rights and democracy in J&K as is available to the citizens of India in the rest of the country.

ii)                Panthers Party stands for immediate Assembly elections with delimitation of constituencies so that J&K shall return back to a state and democracy.

iii)              The Panthers Party is committed for the return of Governor Rule immediately so that state elections are held under Governor Rule.

iv)              Panthers Party is committed to democracy, rule of law, jobs to all, re-elections to the Panchayats and of course the return of statehood.

JKNPP was constituted by Prof.Bhim Singh and others in 1982. He had resigned from the Legislative Assembly and the Congress membership in 1982 declaring the Panthers Party in J&K. Panthers Party stands for reorganization of J&K with immediate restoration of statehood followed by Assembly elections.

Bhim Singh who travelled around the world on motorcycle on peace mission from 1967-1972. Passed his Bar-at-Law and LL.M with distinction from London University in 1972. He had been close associate and friend with PLO Supremo Yasir Arafat. He also had close association with Iraqi President, Saddam Hussain. Prof.Bhim Singh wrote several books including world tour on peace mission on motorcycle. The United Nations in its report mentioned in 1975 that he refused to accept 70 million dollars from President Saddam Hussain who had offered him contribution. The United Nations notification had mentioned that Bhim Singh refused to accept any donation. Prof.Bhim Singh suffered 8 1/2 years in different jails in Kashmir, Jammu, Poonch, Kathua, Bhaderwah and police stations of Anantnag and Srinagar even when he was a sitting MLA in J&K. It was Supreme Court of India which gave him relief for many times, even he was paid Rs.50,000/- compensation by J&K Govt. on the order of the Supreme Court. He continues his legal and political battle from the streets of Kashmir to the gates of the Parliament of India.  

Several other party known leaders took over the command of JKNPP as its President including Uday Chand, Bharat Bhushan Kotwal, Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, Bansi Lal Sharma and latest one was Balwant Singh Mankotia, ex-MLA.

Prof.Bhim Singh was hosted by all from Kashmir to Jammu to take over the command of the Panthers Party so that the voice of justice and equity with a message of brotherhood shall go from Kashmir to Kanyakumari & Dwarka to Nagaland. The party has already constituted the Working Committee as well as its Secretariat unanimously.
