Joint Secretary Livestock Health GoI, Secretary Animal/Sheep Husbandry, UT Ladakh conducts joint meeting on FMD control
KARGIL, JULY 10, 2021: Joint Secretary, Livestock Health, Ministry of Fisheries Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India Upamanyu Basu today convened a meeting in presence of the Secretary Animal/Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries Ladakh Ravinder Kumar along with the Deputy Commissioners of Leh and Kargil districts at Leh.
The Director, Animal and Sheep Husbandry Ladakh along with the officers of the department attended the meeting.
The Secretary appraised regarding the arrival of vaccine by 11th July and vaccination to be started from 11 July, 2021 in both the districts of Ladakh on mission mode. The farmers are requested to cooperate with the department and to take every prevention measure till vaccination of livestock is done.
The Secretary Animal/Sheep and Fisheries, Ladakh, instructed the Deputy Commissioners to impose restriction on the inter-district movement of livestock till complete vaccination is achieved in both the districts.
He also directed the department of Animal and Sheep Husbandry conduct the vaccination on a campaign mode by deputing teams for early completion of vaccination.
