JMC, Mayor hoodwinking people of Jammu: Vikram Malhotra

Massive dengue spread exposes in handling aggravated situation

Jammu, November 12, 2021: Apni Party State General Secretary Vikram Malhotra has criticized Jammu Municipal Corporation and Jammu Mayor for their inability to provide basic amenities.
“The people in Jammu City are facing adverse hazardous situations with the supply of contemplated drinking water in ward number 7 and its adjoining residential colonies,” said Vikram Malhotra.
Malhotra visited ward number 7 and interacted with the people who complained of unhygienic conditions, and poor cleanliness in the locality despite repeated appeals to the JMC.
Malhotra criticized JMC Commissioner and Jammu Mayor as they were not able to even supply clean drinking water.
“The cases of dengue are increasing in Jammu’s urban areas. The cleanliness and hygienic conditions are must but the Corporation is not concerned about the common issues which has resulted into a major health issue in the populated areas,” he said.
He said that the garbage dumps, unclean and choked drains have caused more health issues.
“The supply of contaminated drinking water is being supplied in one of the residential areas which is part of smart city and hardly 200 meters away from the prestigious project of turning Raghunath Bazaar into a Heritage Site,” he said.
He questioned the works done by ERA in the locality along the Residency Road and Old City which has caused more problems than resolving the issues of the general public.
He further said that the hollow promises and slogans have been exposed before the people.
“The JMC and Mayor are hoodwinking the people in the name of development and smart city which seems nowhere in Jammu. They have not been able to provide even basic amenities and left the people to suffer,” he said.
He said that “The creation of hanging gardens, but leaving the issue of water logging unaddressed, poor cleanliness in localities and massive spread of dengue has exposed the failures of the JMC and Jammu Mayor.”
He said that Jammu is passing through multiple issues, but a political party diverts attention of the people towards divisive issues so that people do not seek answers from them.
Meanwhile, Vikram Malhotra assured the people of ward number 7 that he would leave no stone unturned to redress their issues.
