Srinagar, November 13, 2020: At least eight Pakistan Army soldiers were killed on Friday in retaliatory firing by Indian Army in response to the ceasefire violations from across the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir, army sources said.
“The list of Pakistan Army soldiers killed includes 2-3 Pakistan Army Special Service Group (SSG) commandoes,” Indian Army sources said.
In a tweet, defence ministry spokesperson said that the Indian Army inflicted heavy losses on Pakistan in retaliatory shelling.
“Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation using mortars & other weapons along the LoC spread across multiple sectors, including Dawar, Keran, Uri & Naugam, deliberately targeting civilian areas. Our troops retaliated strongly causing substantial damage to Pakistan Army’s infrastructure and casualties across the LoC,” read another tweet.
“Several ammunition dumps, FOL dumps and multiple terrorist launch pads have been damaged,” said the spokesperson.
Earlier today, three Indian security forces personnel were among six persons killed in multiple ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops along the Line of Control (LoC) from Gurez sector to Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.
They said the Pakistani troops fired mortars and other weapons.
In Nambla sector in Uri, two Army soldiers were killed in the Pakistani firing, the officials said.

They said apart from various places in Uri, the ceasefire violations were reported from Izmarg in Gurez sector of Bandipora district and Keran sector of Kupwara district.
A defence spokesman said the Army foiled an infiltration bid, which was aided by the ceasefire violation, along the LoC in the Keran sector.
Almost all BSF units along the LoC are facing heaving firing since morning and an effective retaliation by the troops, artillery regiment and support weapons has been mounted, a senior officer of the force said.
The BSF works under the operational command of the Army at the LoC.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi took to Twitter and saluted the soldiers standing at the borders for security of our country during the festival time, and demolishing Pakistan’s sinister plans.
