Javid Kakroo Mourns Kishtwar Cloudburst Victims, Extends Independence Day Greetings

Srinagar, August 15, 2025: Senior BJP leader Javid Kakroo today expressed profound sorrow and heartfelt condolences for the victims and families affected by the devastating cloudburst in Kishtwar’s Chositi area, even as he simultaneously extended warm greetings on the occasion of India’s 79th Independence Day.

“My heart goes out to every single-family grappling with the unimaginable loss caused by the cloudburst in Kishtwar,” stated Mr. Kakroo in a press statement. “The reports of 46 bodies recovered and dozens still missing are deeply distressing. This is a moment of immense pain and grief for all of us in Jammu and Kashmir, and indeed, for the entire nation.”

We are grateful for the immediate intervention, as confirmed by Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, ensuring that necessary rescue operations, damage evaluation, and medical management are being swiftly put in place,” he noted. “The Government of India stands in complete solidarity with the affected people of Kishtwar, and I assure them that all possible assistance and relief will be provided to help them rebuild their lives.”
