SSP ANTF delivered lecture on Investigation under NDPS Act

Reasi, November 12, 2021: With the aim to improve investigation skills, Reasi Police launched Special training Schedule for investigating officers of district police Reasi.

In a seven days refresher course on investigation particularly focused on cases of NDPS started at district police lines Reasi for investigating officers Sub Inspectors, Assistant Sub-Inspector, Head Constables of Reasi Police Participated.

Gazetted Officers and SHO’s delivered lectures on various important topics during the course.

Today Sh Vinay Sharma SSP Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of Crime wing of J&K police with rich experience of busting networks of drug peddlers & booking them under law delivered a lecture going into threadbare details on Investigation under NDPS Act.

Today a brain storming session of SDPOs SHOs & investigation officers discussed on common procedural omissions during investigation while seizing the banned drugs & collecting related evidences under NDPS Act. Also it’s benefits of doubts being drawn by accused persons.

Mr Vinay spoke on relevant sections of NDPS Act and role of investigating officer in doubts-free collection of evidences by following the laid down procedure under Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC). He also shared his experiences through case studies and judgments on the Act with the Participants.

Sh Shailender Singh Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi Conveyed that aim behind this course is to upgrade investigating skills.
Investigating officers of police are important component of justice delivery system in the country & Mr Shailender is strengthening by empowering them with improved skills. He said that target is to achieve highest standards of investigation which is prerequisite for improving conviction rate.

A momento was presented to SSP Vinay Sharma as a token of appreciation for sparing time & sharing his valuable experiences with Reasi Police.
